IVC's Mission

Our Mission
The Inland Valley Consortium (IVC) was created to promote regional cooperation
among institutions working on inland valley agro-ecosystems in West and
Central Africa.
IVC completed its first
phase from 1994 to 1999.
IVC Membership
The Inland Valley Consortium is convened by the West Africa Rice Development Association (WARDA).
The IVC brings together the following institutions and organizations:
- Research and extension institutions in the following countries:
Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Nigeria,
Sierra Leone, Togo.

2. Open Membership: joining the IVC
IVC membership is open to countries and organizations working for the
development of inland valleys in West and Central Africa. Countries and
international organizations seeking membership of IVC must submit a
request through WARDA. This should include a study of the current use of inland
valleys, the potential for their development, a national strategy for the
inland valley use, and a brief synthesis of the state-of-the-art in the
country or international institution. WARDA, in consultation with the other IVC
members, will decide on admittance.
